After working as IT engineer for three years, in 2002, Kamata joined JPCERT Coordination Center and experienced cybersecurity incident handling, network monitoring, vulnerability handling, cyber threat intelligence analysis, international coordination and so on.

Since 2011 he has been working for a Japanese mega bank and was part of setting up Cybersecurity strategy and capability. Since 2014, he mainly works in the financial industry for Cybersecurity issues as executive director of Financials ISAC Japan.

He also started cybersecurity training company Armoris in 2019. Additionally he take advisor role of Financial Services Agency of Japanese government and Cybersecurity Technical Advisor of Ibaraki Prefecture Police.

He has published his cybersecurity management book on Kindle as “Introduction to Cybersecurity Management”.
